Initially touted as The Prince of Acoustic Pop, Nyoy merited the upgrade to become The King of Philippine Acoustic Pop more recently. Having started his career in the early 2000s, he counts several hits under his belt including the ballad songs “Nasaan Ka Na?” “Wansapanataym,” and “Someday.” The year 2015 is a year of firsts for Nyoy. During that same year, he became one of the eight contestants in the first season of the singing and impersonation competition “Your Face Sounds Familiar” and he made his acting debut as part of the Kapamilya teleserye “Ningning.” His acting stint continued and even became bigger as played the role of Lola in the 2018 and 2019 local adaptations of the Broadway musical “Kinky Boots.” Later on, he flexed his mentoring skills as one of the hurados on “It’s Showtime’s” Tawag ng Tanghalan segment and as a choreography mentor in “YFSF Kids” Season 2.
