Charo Santos is best known for being the host of the longest-running Kapamilya TV drama anthology “Maalala Mo Kaya.” Her career in the entertainment industry began behind the scenes as the producer of classic films “Oro, Plata, Mata” and “Himala.” After which she went to establish herself as a drama actress through the films “Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak” by Lino Brocka and “Itim,” ”by Mike De Leon, which earned her a Best Actress nod from the 1977 Asian Film Festival. After a long acting hiatus, Charo returned in front of the camera through the highly-acclaimed films “Ang Babeng Humayo” (2016), “Eerie” (2018), and “Kun Maupay Man It Panahon” (2021).
