Spotify Wrapped 2024: BINI is top group in PH, beating Ben&Ben, LANY
BINI has indeed come a long way.
ABS-CBN’s eight-member girl crew emerged as the top group in the Philippines on Spotify Wrapped 2024, beating both local and international acts on the streaming platform.
The “Nation’s Girl Group” is followed by the Filipino bands Ben&Ben and Cup of Joe, with global acts LANY and One Direction completing the Top 5.
BINI also made it to the following Spotify Wrapped 2024 lists: Philippines’ Top Local Groups (first), Philippines’ Top Artists (fourth), Philippines’ Top Local Artists (second), and Philippines’ Top Songs for “Pantropiko” (fifth).
“Pinoy music continues to break into new spaces like never before and we’re excited to continue working closely with local creators to bring their crafts to more audiences,” Gustav Back, managing director for Southeast Asia at Spotify, said in a statement. Also making a mark this year is Hev Abi, who has been named Spotify Wrapped 2024’s top local artist in the Philippines.
“Babaero,” his collaboration with gins&melodies, is the top song on the streaming platform this year, with this other hit single “Walang Alam” at fourth place.
Grateful for the recognition, Hev Abi said in a statement released by Spotify: “Thankful ako na maraming nag-eenjoy at nakaka-relate sa music ko, which is ‘yun na rin siguro ‘yung reason kung bakit nasasabi na nire-represent ko ‘yung new sound ng Pinoy hip-hop.”
